I am Wynand Pretorius.

I am not special. And there are not many reasons why you should listen to me. That said, if you actually managed to stumble across this little corner of the web, then all I can say is welcome.

This is my personal blog.

Mostly aimed at my two boys. To one day perhaps find a better perspective of the complexity and mostly flawed human their dad was.

I am not selling you anything, although I might introduce you to some products I use and then earn a small affiliate fee from it.

I am in my late forties. Not sure when you will read this, but here in 2024 I will be turning 47.

I have lived a good life.

Found the love of my life when I was 24. Married that girl. Never looked back.

Yes, a man can truly love one woman his whole life and be the better for it (D’artgnan in The Man in the Iron Mask)

My proudest moment was the birth of my two boys.

I love you, my sons, more than you would ever know.

So why start this blog?

To reflect.

To have conversations with myself. About this adventure, we call life.

To show it is imperfect, to show it is just a human trying to navigate through it, the best he can.

Now, this page will most probably be updated as time goes on. Who knows.

However here is the short bio of who the hell Wynand Pretorius is.

  • Born, raised and still live in Pretoria South Africa
  • Jesus Follower, with many questions and trying to be open-minded (you can take that any way you want)
  • Proud Father, Husband to the best Wife, Son to caring Parents, Brother to a loving Sister, and a Friend to the Best you can get
  • Loves sport. Cricket, football (soccer), tennis, rugby. Pretty much anything played with a ball….
  • Author. I have written both fiction and non-fiction.
  • Born Curious.
  • Entrepreneur. I am co-founder and owner of Claw Publishing and Claw Media
  • Digital Marketing Manager by trade. Been in the marketing and sales game for the better part of 20 years.
  • Reader. Story lover. Explorer. Thinker.
  • Above all, I am a dreamer

So now that you know me…

What will I cover in this blog?

Life in general. As I mentioned this is mainly aimed at my boys. Trying to give them insights into who I am or was.

Also to perhaps prepare them for their lives ahead.

Not to copy.

But to learn from my modest success and definitely to learn from my vast failures.

Also to you the seeker and dreamer.

Perhaps you can relate on some level with me. I am in my middle years. Reflecting, looking forward, and staying in the present.

So I will cover life in general. Perhaps add some spice to my beliefs and dreams. What I read. What I watch. What my goals are and how I intend to get there. What frustrates me. And how I see this world.

Remember this is my perspective.

I don’t expect or force you to agree.
