Hey Wynand here,
Today, I embark to take back my health…again.
In a previous post, I outlined my personal rules for being a man. One of those rules emphasizes the importance of taking care of one’s body. After all, we only get one, and it’s the vessel that propels everything forward.
Last year, I committed to this principle by participating in a transformational challenge. I shed a significant amount of weight, felt fantastic, and alleviated many of the minor aches in my joints. I also established a solid exercise habit.
That was last year.
Today, I’m nearly 15kg heavier than my best weight in 2024.
Oops, I did it again.
Yes, I stopped vaping at the end of October 2024, which led to immediate weight gain. But let’s be honest, almost six months later, I can’t use that excuse anymore. While quitting a harmful habit was a positive step, the weight I’ve gained has long overstayed its welcome.
So, I’m starting again.
New goal.
Let’s rewind to January. I initially planned to follow the Body for Life program throughout 2025. It worked wonders for me back in 2007, helping me lose a ton of weight and providing a great eating strategy. However, this time, it lasted about a month before life, stress, and various excuses derailed my efforts.
Now, I’m starting fresh.
Simple plan.
Simple goal.
Lose 25kg by 31 October 2025.
To take back my health.
Here’s the plan:
- Follow an 18:6 fasting approach.
- Break my fast with a protein shake.
- Keep my daily calorie intake under 1,800.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Aim for 180 grams of protein daily.
- Walk every day.
- Engage in strength/resistance training 3-4 times a week.
That’s it.
Okay, I’m still fleshing out some details, but that’s the plan.
I’ll hold myself accountable on this blog.
So, stay tuned.
