Hitting a week 4 plateau

Hey Wynand here,

So, without going into detail, I have been participating in a transformation challenge from the fine people at ProPhysique.

Now I have been giving some sporadic updates, as recently as last week.

And everything went well.

Until I completed week 4.

Hitting a week 4 plateau.

It’s the plateau man.

Yes, I hit a

  • physical – no weight loss for the week
  • Mental – was just not happy about not losing any weight
  • energy – my body felt drained

plateau.

It was tough, to say the least.

So, I sucked in the old stomach, pulled up my big boy pants, and took a deep breath.

Analised my week.

Did other measurements and found I lost 3 cm since my last check.

Ended up that the scale is not everything.

Had a refeed weekend, to add some calories back in my diet.

and low and behold…

I am feeling re-energized and ready for this week.

So the plan is to:

  • Hit my daily protein targets
  • Increase my cardio
  • and continue to add a type of refeed over the weekends where I will eat clean but more towards my maintenance calory intake.
